Paralyzed Racer Sam Schmidt Honored With Reeve’s Visionary Leadership Award

Former racer Sam Schmidt, who was paralyzed in a crash in 2000, received the 2008 Visionary Leadership Award this week from the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation. After his accident, Schmidt founded the Sam Schmidt Paralysis Foundation to fund scientific research and rehabilitation advances.
